How We Write and Fact-Check Our Guides

OurJrney publishes guides on nutrition, functional ingredients and everyday wellness. We also sell the products some of those guides mention. Because of that, we hold our content to clear rules, and we publish them here so you can hold us to them.

Who writes our guides

Our guides are written by Alison Hartwell, a nutrition educator with many years of hands-on experience in food and nutrition. Alison is not a licensed dietitian or medical professional. Our guides are for general education and are not a substitute for advice from your doctor or pharmacist.

How we choose sources

  • We start from primary research and official health sources: peer-reviewed studies (found through PubMed), the National Institutes of Health, the FDA, the CDC and similar public bodies.
  • We prefer human studies over animal or lab studies, and we say clearly when the evidence comes only from animal or lab research.
  • Every guide lists its sources in a References section, with links so you can read them yourself.

How we fact-check

Before a guide is published, it goes through a checklist:

  1. Sources: every specific number, study result or safety statement is checked against the original source, and the wording must match what the source actually says.
  2. Claims: we describe how ingredients may support normal body functions. We do not claim that any food or supplement diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents a disease.
  3. Safety: guides include who should talk to a doctor first, known interactions, and when to seek medical care.
  4. Links and structure: every link must work, and every guide has a clear summary, a disclaimer and an author.

Products we sell

OurJrney makes NeuroMatcha, NeuroCoffee and Nano Turmeric. When a guide mentions one of our products, we say so plainly and keep the same evidence standards we apply to everything else. You can find the serving size, caffeine and full ingredients of each product on our Product Facts page.

Updates and corrections

We review guides when new research or official guidance appears, and each guide shows when it was last updated. If you spot an error, email customerservice@ourjrney.com with the page link. We will check it and correct the page if we got something wrong.
